About

Logs should answer questions,
not create them

ZipLogger exists because debugging production still feels like archaeology — and because paying by the gigabyte for the privilege never sat right with us.

Why we're building this

Every incident follows the same script: an alert fires, someone opens a log tool, and twenty browser tabs later the team is still asking the same question — what changed? The answer is almost always a commit. Yet the tools that hold your logs know nothing about your code, and the tools that hold your code know nothing about your logs.

ZipLogger closes that loop. It parses the stack trace out of an error, blames your git history, and ranks the commits most likely responsible — then lets AI write the root-cause summary you'd otherwise spend an hour assembling. That single connection, from log line to guilty commit, changes what a log platform is for: it stops being a search box and starts being a debugger for production.

And it's yours. ZipLogger is self-hosted — your logs stay on your infrastructure, your costs stay flat and predictable, and nothing about your system's behavior leaves your network unless you ask it to.

What we believe

Five principles behind every decision

🧭

Simplicity

Minutes to set up. Two lines of code to integrate. One place for logs, patterns, metrics, alerts, and dashboards. Complexity is a cost we refuse to pass on.

Performance

Ingestion that never blocks your app, search that answers before you finish reading the query, and a platform built to stay that fast as your data grows from thousands of events to billions.

💜

Developer experience

Built by people who carry the pager. The SDKs plug into the logging you already write — ILogger, Serilog, Python's logging, Pino, Winston, slog — and the docs assume you'd rather paste one snippet than read one chapter.

🤖

AI-powered observability

AI where it earns its place: summarizing error storms, translating questions into queries, explaining regressions. Always optional, always transparent about what's sent and when.

☁️

Own your observability

Self-hosted on your infrastructure, open standards at the front door (OpenTelemetry, plain HTTP), and no lock-in anywhere: your logs, your keys, your terms — exportable and portable from day one.

🤝

Honest pricing

Flat monthly plans from $0, published limits, overage rates you can compute in your head, and a free tier that's actually useful. Your bill should never be the incident.

Where we're going

Today ZipLogger covers the full logging lifecycle across .NET, Python, Node.js, Go, Java, the browser, and OpenTelemetry stacks — ingestion, search, patterns, metrics, alerts, dashboards, AI analysis, regression detection, and a complete subscription platform. Next on the roadmap: Ruby and PHP SDKs, a Helm chart, deeper trace correlation, and richer AI workflows that draft the postmortem for you.

If that's a future you want for your team, start free — or tell us what you'd need to make the switch.
